Treat yourself to this incredibly soft and surprisingly warm hat made of one of nature’s best materials! The Chullo is a style of hat commonly worn in the Andes highlands, which is woven thickly with insulative ear flaps weighed down by knit cables. It is designed to keep the wearer’s head warm even during frigid high-altitude winters. This garment is 100% woven baby alpaca wool with traditional decorative patterns. Alpaca wool is warmer and lighter than sheep's wool, durable, hypoallergenic, wrinkle free, odor resistant, natural, and easy on the environment. It does not prick or scratch like sheep's wool, making it appropriate for babies and those with sensitive skin. Baby alpaca is an extra fine grade comparable in softness to cashmere and does not really come from a baby - it is from the first shearing of a one-year-old adult alpaca. Shearing is not harmful for alpacas and is necessary after winter's end to prevent them from overheating. This product was made by artisans in the Andes regions of South America.
